Did think it looked like a huss as well but given the recent controversy I've created I thought it best not to say anything....oops, too late now! LOL

DOH !!

If you're going to pick me up on something Karen, please try to ensure you're correct in the first place.(16)

we have a pic of the mouth Geth - it was a doggie by the look of the flaps - I used that pic as it clearly shows the points we are all discussing... I will post the pic when I get back home but its a bleached out one so doesn't help much - we actually took the pics as it was confusing at first looks - it deffo had a flap as opposed to the huss pinched look though.................. otherwise I wouldn't have posted it ;)

Geth,

I think Karen's pic is of a dog, check the nasal flap out. it's not got the seperate 'nostrils' but the one dogfish like pad.

Take the scale into consideration as well, that fish is only 18"-2' long if that's Karen holding it.

Just check the pad at the front and stop trying the wise cracks [M], looks more doggy than Hussy...

Anyway, everyone knows that Huss are born 30lb and then shrink [sh]

Sod off Gareth. Wisecracks my ****, you stated the size issue.

Looks more hussy than doggy to me, the fins are not conclusive, the slits are akin to the huss pics already featured on the thread. The mouth is hard to see as it is pressed up against the squid bait.

Have you never caught huss with small flat nostrils that query its specie.

I hate to bring this in, but the larger bigger spots, with no small spots and the look of a bigger head all mixed in with my other thoughts say hu, hus no I mean huss!

I say its a huss, as do a few others. You say its a dog, as does Karen.

We are all now aware that a good clear photo of the nostril area is required if a small huss is to be entered.
