Cymyran Bay 13/1/12
« on: January 14, 2012, 02:41:53 PM »
In the search of points for the specimen trophy i thought there would be a chance of a coalie and bass at Cymyran Bay,so myself,Chris (Riffer) and Richie got on the beach @ 2 hours before high water. An onshore breeze would have been better for the fishing but it turned out to be flat calm and frosty...good for bite registration and for seeing the stars
Recent reports from up the road hardly breathed confidence but we were just gunna enjoy the night and see what happened.First cast resulted in a good bang on Chris`s rod and a schoolie was soon beached...

My first cast gave me a couple of whiting....

No monsters showing but at least we were getting bites...another whiting, flounder and a couple of dogs for me...Chris had a whiting as did Richie, before he made the trip worthwhile with a bass of 1-2-0...

The sport died after the first hour or so,and Richie had the nights hard luck story after his rod got hammered by something big...he had it on for a short while before whatever it was pulled out ....prob a nice bass but we`ll never know
Nice to meet Chris and though the fishing was`nt great,it was a good night to be on the beach
