Heysham Bass Hunt

The plan was for a paddle off Heysham nr. Morecambe to see if we could tempt any Bass to our fresh peeler crab baits     so we set off with the flooding tide pushing us along, to a mark where we'd had success in the past.



We soon had our baits in the water, full peelers and softies loaded onto 4/0 Sakumas and it wasn't long before our rod tips were showing signs of interest....











Not Bass........Flounder after bloody flounder    and some of them had been on their holidays to Heysham Power station by the looks of things 




Paul decided to be different and catch a dab.....




There was a wind against tide scenario which made it a bit uncomfortable and even with a small tide, the run was quite fierce and we began dragging anchor! After a few more flounder we decided to head inshore, which was a hell of a paddle against that tide

We were that knackered paddling against the tide rip we anchored off throbshaw for a breather and a bit of a fish!   

With the fishing poor and with another sunset on the horizon we decided to call it a day..




When that sun goes down, you realise how cold it soon gets as well....... my poor tootsies were like blocks of ice
